23rd TERM GENERAL ELECTIONS
July 22, 2007

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

 

A Press Center will be organized by the Directorate General of Press and Information at the Çankaya Hall of the Ankara Hilton Hotel on July 22, 2007. The Press Center will be operational from 9 a.m. (local time) onwards in order to assist members of the foreign and domestic press who wish to cover the 23rd Term General Elections to be held on July 22, 2007.

 

 

2. ACCREDITATION

 

Members of the press who wish to cover the general elections from the Press Center should apply for accreditation to the address below in person, by fax or e-mail by July 16.

 

a)      Members of the national press should legibly fill in the enclosed accreditation form (also available at www.byegm.gov.tr) and attach a copy of their press card. (Media members without this press card should apply with a letter of authorization from their media organization and a copy of their official ID cards.)

 

b)     Resident members of the foreign press in Turkey should legibly fill in the enclosed accreditation form (also available at www.byegm.gov.tr) and attach a copy of their press card and a copy of their passport.

 

c)      Members of the foreign press coming from abroad should legibly fill in the enclosed accreditation form (also available at www.byegm.gov.tr) and attach a copy of their local press card, a letter of authorization from their media organization and a copy of their passport.

Incomplete applications and requests received after July 16 will not be processed.

 

3. ACCREDITATION CARDS

 

Members of the press should collect their accreditation cards in person by presenting an ID card or passport from the address above from July 17 to July 20 or from the Press Center at the Hilton Hotel on July 22.
