Once upon a time there was a King in Aspendos who had a most beautiful daughter named Belkis. Every famous person from near and far wanted to marry her. Upon this the King announced that he would give his daughter to the artist who would create the most magnificent monument. He organized a competition. Everyone showed his creation. Then news came that the last work was finished. The King and his daughter went to see it. This was a palace-like theatre. They went and sat at a loge. Suddenly they heard a whisper. "The King's daughter will be mine." They looked around themselves but there was no one. Only one man walked on the stage. The acoustics of the theatre was so magnificent that even a whisper could be heard from everywhere. The King gave his daughter to the architect and they lived happily ever after.
