most popular style of music in recent years. Along with the popularizing influence of the radio and television, endeavours of the State Turkish Folk Music choruses affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism have also played an important role in this achievement. Music pieces in which priority was given to artistic interpretations, creativity and musicality prevailed in time. In line with these developments, an enormous music market has formed in recent years and a significant increase is recorded in domestic sales of music cassettes and CDs. Especially Turkish pop and rock music cassettes fancied by the young break sales records nowadays. |
