MEDIA AND DEMOCRACY AWARD GOES TO DGPI

The Professional Union of Radio and Television Broadcasters (RATEM) has rewarded the sensibility and devotion shown by media outlets during the coup attempt of July 15.

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım attended the award ceremony held at TGNA Ceremony Hall. Speaking at the ceremony, PM Yıldırım indicated that media had played the biggest role in quelling the coup attempt of July 15 and said,   “On that night, all visual media outlets took a firm stance against the coup attempt as if they agreed on all hands. I would like to thank for the great valour and patriotism you have shown for the enlightenment of our country.” 

Office of the Prime Minister Directorate General of Press and Information (DGPI) was deemed worthy of “Media and Democracy” award and the Director General Mehmet Akarca received the award from the PM Binali Yıldırım on behalf of the DGPI.
