Organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) the 15th Istanbul Biennial opens to the public on 16 September 2017.
The Chairman of İKSV Bülent Eczacıbaşı said that, "The Istanbul Biennial draws the attention of international circles on art towards Turkey. It supports the cultural and artistic life of our country and the artistic and intellectual productivity. We are proud to be celebrating our 30th year as we an independent platform where artists and art lovers alike can engage freely in the production of art and ideas."
"Contributed to Hundreds of New Art Projects with Production Support"
Eczacıbaşı noting that the most important aim of the Istanbul Biennial is to contribute to the current production of art, stated the following:
"The Istanbul Biennial has contributed to hundreds of new art projects with production support in the last 30 years. As the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, we firmly believe that culture, which is so important for social life, is also a key determinant of development, which is why we are strengthening our international collaboration and continuing our efforts to make an even greater contribution to the cultural and art life of our country. We plan to continue this effort in the years ahead with the support of our sponsors, international culture and art institutions, and our invaluable supporters."
The Istanbul Biennial will take place until 12 November 2017, and can be visited free of charge.
