Deputy Premier Mehmet Şimşek pointed out that Turkish economy gained momentum and said that “Turkey has focused on structural reforms to gain high income nation status through a comprehensive reform program.
During his speech at the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), Şimşek said that there were crucial problems like geopolitical tensions, low production, protectionist tendencies and global trade recession in the world and the region of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Expressing that Islamic Development Bank Group has played a strong role in the development of member states through a unique business model, he appreciated IsDB group which has supported member states by providing them fund amounting $ 124 billion since its very beginning.

He emphasized that 2016 was a rough year for Turkey due to the failed coup attempt as well as geopolitical reasons and added that Turkish people and its economy proved its resilience once again.
