Approximately 2000 years old Medusa mosaic was constructed with colored marbles in opus sectile technique. Mosaic is located in a concert area called Odeon with 3,600-person-capacity. Floor, built between two walls, covers an area of 540 square meters. Medusa mosaic is the biggest floor covering in Turkey to be displayed in its original place. In Greek mythology, Medusa was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as a winged human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair and gazers upon her face would turn to stone.
