    Unter der Schirmherrschaft von Staatspräsident Abdullah Gül wurden Personen, mit besonderen Verdiensten im Bereich Wissenschaft und Technologie ausgezeichnet. Die Preisverleihung fand im Çankaya Palais statt. Neben dem Staatspräsidenten und dem Vorsitzenden des Wissenschafts- und Technologeiforschungsrates Prof. Dr.Yüksel Altunbaşak und Akademikern, nahmen an der Verleihung weitere Minister wie die Ministerin für Familie und Sozialpolitik, Fatma Şahin, der Europaminister Egemen Bağış, der Minister für Wissenschaft, Industrie und Technologie, Nihat Ergün, der Minister für Energie und Naturschätze, Taner Yıldız sowie der Vorsitzender des Hochschulrates und Vertreter der Großen Türkischen Nationalversammlung (TBMM) teil. In seiner Ansprache hob Abdullah Gül die Rolle der Wissenschaft und Forschung, die sie in der Gegenwart einnimmt hervor und unterstrich die Bedeutung der Wissenschaft für die Entwicklung des Landes.
  • ERDOĞAN FÜR QUOTENREGELUNG

    Anlässlich des 77. Jahrestages der Erlangung des aktiven und passiven Wahlrechts der türkischen Frauen, legte die Ministerin für Familie und Sozialpolitik, Fatma Şahin einen Kranz am Grabmal vom Staatsgründer Mustafa Kemal Atatürk nieder und trug sich in das Gedenkbuch ein. An der Zeremonie nahmen weitere Abgeordnete teil. Ministerpräsident Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, der den Frauen anlässlich der besondere dieses Tages seine Gratulationen übermittelte, sagte dass die Frauen mit ihren errungenen Rechten aktiver am politischen und kulturellen Leben teilnehmen müssten, damit sich die Zukunft besser gestalten lässt. Erdoğan betonte zudem dass ihre Priorität als Regierung der Abschaffung von jeglicher Diskriminierung gegenüber Frauen gelte. Auch sagte Erdoğan dass sie zur aktiven Teilnahme der Frauen am gesellschaftlichen Leben Reformen realisiert haben ohne Unterschied zwischen sozialer Sicht, Religion oder Glauben zu machen. Zudem würden sie planen zur Förderung der Frauen eine Quotenregelung im Grundgesetz zu verankern.

    Die Bonner Afghanistan-Konferenz endete trotz der aktuellen Spannungen und dem Boykott Pakistans mit einem klaren Bekenntnis: Die Weltgemeinschaft ist bereit, beim langfristigen Aufbau des Landes auch nach dem Abzug der ausländischen Kampftruppen Ende 2014 zu helfen. Der afghanische Staatspräsident Hamid Karzai betonte, für die Zeit nach 2014 sei internationale Hilfe lebenswichtig und sie möchten niemanden zur Last werden, jedoch sei das Land für weitere mindestens 10 Jahre auf Hilfe angewiesen. Außenminister Ahmet Davutoğlu, der auch an der Bonner Afghanistan-Konferenz teilnahm, kam im Rahmen der Gespräche mit US-Außenministerin Hillary Clinton für einen Meinungsaustausch zusammen. Davutoğlu und Clinton berieten über die jüngsten internationalen Entwicklungen. An der Bonner Afghanistankonferenz nahmen annähernd 1000 Teilnehmer aus 85 Ländern und 16 internationalen Organisationen teil. Pakistan nahm als Reaktion auf den Tod von 24 pakistanischen Soldaten, die bei einem NATO-Angriff ums Leben kamen, an der Konferenz nicht teil.

    Stellvertretender Ministerpräsident Ali Babacan, der anlässlich des türkisch-japanischen Wirtschaftsforums in Japan weilt besuchte gestern im Vorfeld des Forums die Moschee von Tokio. Die Moschee von Tokio wurde im Jahre 1938 von türkisch-tatarischen Gruppen, die Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts nach Tokio auswanderten erbaut. Babacan traf im Rahmen seiner Kontakte, der Reihe nach mit dem japanischen Außenminister Koichiro Genba, Japans Finanzminister Jun Azumi, Industrieminister Yukio Edano und dem stellvertretenden Ministerpräsident und Regierungssprecher Osamu Fujimura zusammen. Unterdessen erklärte Babacan, der an dem türkisch-japanischen Wirtschaftsforum eine Rede hielt, die Türkei und Japan haben tief verwurzelte historische Beziehungen und eine besondere Solidaritäts- und Unterstützungsgefühl in Desaster Perioden.

    Премьер-министр Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган в своем послании по случаю годовщины предоставления женщинам права голосовать и выдвигать свои кандидатуры. "Я верю в то, что по мере усиления социального статуса и роста достигнутых ими дивидендов, а также более активного участия женщин в культурной и политической жизни страны, тем светлее станет будущее Турции", - говорится в послании. Отметив, что ликвидация несправедливых обращений в отношении женщины стало приоритетом возглавляемого им правительства, премьер подчеркивает следующее: "Для более активного участия женщины в обществе мы осуществили реформы революционного характера. Предприняли шаги особенно в плане предотвращения применения насилия и половой дискриминации в отношении женщины, а также в плане возвращения лишенных права обучения девочек в школы. Мы продолжим бороться во имя того, чтобы стать страной, в которой женщины берут на себя более решающую роль".

    Согласно письменному заявлению Министерства иностранных дел, делегация во главе с Ахметом Давутоглу примет участие в 18-ом заседании Совета министров Организации по безопасности и сотрудничеству в Европе (ОБСЕ). В заявлении указывается на то, что на заседаниях Совета министров ОБСЕ принимаются решения, определяющие ход работ, которые будут проводиться в течение предстоящего года, а также проводятся назначения. "Деятельность ОБСЕ, направленная в особенности на борьбу с терроризмом, контрабандой, нетерпением и дискриминацией, а также работы в сфере военной безопасности, прозрачности и прав человека, с точки зрения приоритетов нашей страны в плане обеспечения мира и стабильности имеют большое значение",- указывается в заявлении МИД. В связи с ролью, которую играет Турция в регионе, она является одной из стран, активно участвующих в ОБСЕ и вносящих вклад, - отмечается в заявлении.

  • JOE BIDEN: TURKEY, US DISCUSS HOW TO HELP SYRIA AFTER ASSAD FALLS

    The United States and Turkey are reviewing how to help Syria if pro-democracy protests drive President Bashar al-Assad from power, US Vice President Joe Biden said on Sunday, but the two allies have not discussed concrete "next steps." Washington and Ankara have both called for Assad to go, but both worry it could deepen instability in a region already rocked by the Arab Spring, and as US troops leave Iraq by the end of the month. Biden, in an interview with reporters travelling with him to Athens from Istanbul, said the collapse of the Assad regime would not necessarily spark a wider regional sectarian conflict, which some see pitting the Sunni-dominated west of neighboring Iraq against Shiites in that country and in Iran. "There was a sense in our discussions that it would be able to be handled without any conflagration going beyond Syria, and that it could be localized to Syria," said Biden, characterizing his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday. Biden, speaking to reporters in his private cabin on Air Force Two, said the issue of a buffer zone had not come up in his two hour meeting with Erdogan. “[To] the extent we talked about any ‘what-next’ steps, there were generic discussions about having to go in and provide some help and possibly economic assistance and stability, not militarily, but helping the Syrians,” Biden said. “We’re in this to see Assad come down and then determine what would be the most helpful thing for the international community to do to establish stability in that country.” Biden’s eight day trip began in Iraq, and he spent much of his time with Erdogan and Turkish President Abdullah Gul, who he met the day before in Ankara, talking about the country’s future after US troops have pulled out. Biden said his main message was to emphasize that although the American war in Iraq was over, the United States remained engaged. Washington and Ankara have kept in close touch over Syria but differ in their approach to Iran. Washington wants Ankara to adopt tougher sanctions against Tehran, but that is hard for the Turks, who get about 30 percent of their imported oil from Iran. Biden said the US and Turkey might disagree “tactically” about sanctions on Iran, but shared the same strategic goal. “The United States is going to maintain its leadership role in the entire region, from Iraq to Iran, to the Arab Spring, and it just makes sense we coordinate as closely as we can with our friends and allies who have the same overall strategic interests we have,” he said.
  • WEST PLEDGES CONTINUED SUPPORT TO AFGHANISTAN

    US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton yesterday announced the United States was ending a freeze on hundreds of millions of dollars in development funds for Afghanistan, amid financial reforms. “The United States is pleased to announce we will be joining other partners in resuming financial disbursements to the Afghan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF),” Clinton told a conference on Afghanistan in Bonn, Germany. U.S. officials said the United States took its cue from the International Monetary Fund’s approval last month of a new loan for Afghanistan, after a year of difficult talks stalled by the massive Kabul Bank scandal. In her five minute speech, the chief US diplomat said the Bonn blueprint for progress in Afghanistan, following the withdrawal of U.S. and NATO combat troops in 2014, is based on the principle of “mutual accountability.” The Bonn conference is focused on the transfer of security responsibilities from international forces to Afghan security forces during the next three years, long-term prospects for international aid and a possible political settlement with the Taliban to ensure the country’s viability beyond 2014. About 100 countries and international organizations were represented among the 1,000 conference delegates, including some 60 foreign ministers. “Your continued solidarity, your commitment and support will be crucial so that we can consolidate our gains and continue to address the challenges that remain. We will need your steadfast support for at least another decade,” Afghan President Hamid Karzai said. Speaking at the conference, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said a secure Afghanistan would be of great importance for the region’s security. While remembering Turkey hosted the Istanbul Conference for Afghanistan last month, Davutoglu said, “At the Istanbul Conference, regional countries gave a very strong message of commitment to a secure, stable and prosperous Afghanistan in a secure, stable and prosperous region.” “The region not only gave a resounding message of commitment but also made it clear that it will own, lead and develop the efforts for enhanced cooperation by adopting the ‘Istanbul Process on Regional Security and Cooperation for a Secure and Stable Afghanistan.’ I am pleased that the international community also strongly supported the regionally owned and led Istanbul Process,” he said. “Turkey’s commitment to Afghanistan is for the long-term.”
  • EGEMEN BAGIS: “TURKEY WILL NOT GIVE UP CYPRUS FOR EU MEMBERSHIP”

    EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said yesterday that Turkey would never give up its “national cause”, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), for the sake of EU membership. “Turkey has a clear stance regarding the Cyprus issue and it is impossible for Turkey to recognize the Greek Cypriot administration as a state,” said Bagis in response to a parliamentary question. Noting that Turkish Cypriots remained peaceful despite injustices, Bagis said, “It is impossible for Turkey to sit at the table with an administration that is not recognized by Turkey. Bagis emphasized that Turkey would not regard the Greek Cypriot administration as an interlocutor during its EU term presidency, but Turkey's relations with the EU would continue.

Unfortunately 37 years have passed, but we could not have noticed some of the fundamental issues. We have allowed events to go downhill, which has brought us to the threshold of a certain division. We should have sought the involvement of Greece, Turkey and Britain to find a solution,” said Rolandis. He also praised Turkey’s strategic power and economy, adding that the EU cannot ignore these advantages.

    La Turquie et l'Allemagne, qui maintiennent un nombre important de troupes en Afghanistan, ont accepté de continuer à aider le pays las de la guerre après le retrait des troupes de l'OTAN en 2014. L'accord a été conclu lors d'une réunion entre le ministre des Affaires étrangères Ahmet Davutoglu et son homologue allemand, Guido Westerwelle, en marge d'une conférence internationale sur l'avenir de l'Afghanistan à Bonn le lundi. Les deux pays co0ntinueront à aider l'Afghanistan dans tous les domaines après 2014, selon les sources proches de la réunion qui ont parlé au quotidien Zaman. Les deux ministres ont convenu que quitter l'Afghanistan pourrait conduire à ll'instabilité en Asie centrale, en tournant la région en une "boule de feu». "Nous envoyons un message clair à la population de l'Afghanistan: nous savons notre responsabilité et nous continuerons à vous soutenir", a déclaré M. Westerwelle. S'adressant à la conférence, M. Davutoğlu a pour sa part déclaré: «L'engagement de la Turquie en Afghanistan est pour le long terme ... Nous sommes déterminés à soutenir nos frères et sœurs afghans tant qu'ils le voudraient." Le président afghan Hamid Karza, pour sa part, a déclaré que l'Afghanistan a sollicité l'appui de donateurs internationaux, ajoutant que son pays est immédiatement dans le besoin de 5 milliards de dollars. "Votre solidarité continue, votre engagement et votre appui sera crucial pour que nous puissions consolider nos acquis et continuer à relever les défis qui demeurent. Nous aurons besoin de votre appui indéfectible pendant au moins une autre décennie ", a déclaré M. Karzaï. Le Ministre des Affaires étrangères Davutoğlu a souligné l'importance de la réconciliation politique pour l'avenir de l'Afghanistan, en disant: «.   • DAVUTOĞLU A EU UN COURT ENTRETIEN AVEC CLINTON

    Le ministre des Affaires étrangères Ahmet Davutoğlu a participé hier à une conférence internationale sur l’Afghanistan à Bonn, ancienne capitale d’Allemagne. Dans le cadre de la conférence, M. Davutoğlu a eu un court entretien avec la Secrétaire d’Etat américain Hillary Clinton. Lors de son discours, affirmant que le peuple afghan déterminerait son propre avenir dans 10, “la sécurité de l’Afghanistan est très importante pour la sécurité de la région”, a-t-il dit. A part le Chancelier allemand Angela Merkel, le Secrétaire général de l’ONU Ban Ki-moon, les ministres des Affaires étrangères de 60 pays ont participé à la conférence, a-t-on appris. Le processus de la passation de tout pouvoir à l’Afghanistan et le processus politique envisagé à partir de 2014 étaient au menu des entretiens dans le cadre de la conférence.

    Le fondateur et Président de l’Institut arabo-américain aux Etats-Unis, James Zogby a déclaré que les Etats-Unis prenaient conscience du rôle critique de la Turquie dans sa région et la considèrent désormais comme un partenaire important. Selon M.Zogby, la Turquie est actuellement un leader au Moyen-Orient mais les Arabes veulent le leadership de l’Egypte en raison des liens historiques et culturels, M.Zogby a souligné qu’une coopération entre l’Egypte et la Turquie était d’une importance particulière pour la région.
  • MEVLÜT ÇAVUŞOĞLU: L’EVOLUTION DOIT ETRE FAITE DE MANIERE PACIFISTE

    “L’évolution dans les pays du Printemps arabe doit être réalisée de manière saine, pacifiste et démocratique”, a indiqué le Président de l’Assemblée parlementaire du Conseil de l’Europe, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. M. Çavuşoğlu qui s’est exprimé lors de la conférence à l’Université Atılım sur “la mission de la Turquie dans le printemps arabe et le regard de l’Europe envers la Turquie et le printemps arabe”, a affirmé : “Nous voyons désormais le printemps arabe comme le résultat d’une recherche de la démocratie, de la supériorité de la loi et des droits de l’homme.” M. Çavuşoğlu a ajouté que le Conseil avait inclus le Maroc au “Statut de partenariat pour la démocratie” au juin dernier et au Conseil national palestinien, au mois d’Octobre et que l’Assemblée parlementaire du conseil de l’Europe acceptera l’adhésion du Kirghizistan sur la demande de ce pays.
