The Ýzmir Culture, Art and Education Foundation organized the 14th Ýzmir European Jazz Festival on March 3-14, 2006 and organized the 21st International Ýzmir Festival from June 10 to July 20, 2007. The Ýzmir European Jazz Festival, also a product of cooperation among consulates and foreign cultural centers in Ýzmir, featured leading artists of the European jazz and also included workshops on open jazz orchestras and pianos. A total of 65 students took these workshops. One of the most popular performances was the concert by students. Two students who took part in the Jazz Orchestra Workshop directed by Italian masters Claudio Fasoli and Antonio Zambrini that year won bursaries to attend the master classes of the 37th International Siena Summer School for Jazz.

In 2007, METU organized the International Jazz Festival and International Dance Festival.

As in previous years, artists and ensembles of international acclaim in the genres orchestral concerts, chamber music, ballet and theatre took part in the 20th International Ýzmir Festival which included performances in historical sites such as the Ephesus Antique Theatre,  the Celsius Library and the

Ephesus Odeon. The festival was also embraced by the people who attended free open-air classical music concerts held in the main square of the city.

The International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival, held in the 2,000-year-old Aspendos Amphitheater with exceptional acoustics, has become a very important international event attracting the best artists and groups of the world due to the constantly growing artistic quality of the festival. This has been a manifestation of its distinguished place among similar festivals in the world.
